The 85th anniversary celebration of the National Horse Association took place under the theme, “Our Legacy for Today’s Peace,” with inspiring speeches and a peaceful culmination.
In his message, the President of Injabara University, Dr. Gardachew, emphasized the university’s journey since its establishment, highlighting its contributions to education, research, and community service. He stressed the importance of using local natural resources and human talent to uplift the nation’s people, culture, and history. He also pointed out the significance of the university’s role in preserving the country’s cultural and historical assets through sustainable tourism development. This has become one of the major development sectors for the country, with a focus on the sustainable development of agriculture, tourism, health, language, culture, and creative industries. He outlined how the university’s initiatives align with national development goals and government policies.
Dr. Gardachew also spoke about the strategic importance of the university’s tourism programs, which are designed to support sustainable development and promote cultural and historical tourism. The university’s efforts in these areas have not only contributed to local development but have also made it a key player in global tourism trends, thanks to its rich cultural heritage.
